Advice by Pepper Mackay

Welcome to the Pepper Mackay Slip of the Tongue archive!
Slip of the Tongue ran as a column from October 2000 to May 2001
in the Sagebrush, the student
newspaper of the University of Nevada, Reno. In those days, the Sagebrush didn't
have a webpage, and once a Pepper Mackay column was printed, it was lost
in perpetuity except to those nerds who were willing to take the time to
visit library archives to read old copies of the Sagebrush. And even those nerds
sorta had to be living in Reno, or at least Sacramento, to be able to make a
pastime of it.
My good friend Aaron happened to be saving copies of that year's paper because he
had a column in it, too, so in exchange for a few "favors" he agreed to type
them in to the computer for me, and put 'em online for nerds everywhere to
waste their time reading. And yes, these are a waste of time. It's not like
they're funny, or educational. No, they're pretty much just mean. But, hey
if you're into that sorta thing, go for it.
Aaron even did one better and put them up on my Iowaline.net webspace for me. Why
he made them as pink as a tampon commercial, I'll never know. But if you can
stand the blazing salmon hues throughout, then have fun. I hope you enjoy reading
them as much as I enjoyed the partying that I was doing when I should have
been putting time into writing them.
